I have owned many dog breeds in the past and I have to say that the Portuguese Water Dog is one of the smartest and sweetest dogs I have ever owned. My Ollie is 15 weeks old and house broke in the first week of my owning him. He is my shadow. I am looking forward to summer so he can go fishing and the beach with me. If I ever decide to get another PWD it will be from Alan Smucker he is a real pleasure to deal with and his Dam and Sire are beautiful. Thanks again Alan for holding Ollie (Paws) for me on a phone call.

I have taken care of my best friends Porti for over a year when she travels out of town for work. This breed is social, silly, and smart. I found that he definitely needs to be around people and other dogs. He is at his best when playing fetch, learning a new command or figuring out how to get treats out of a Kong rubber toy. I enjoy this breed so much that I officially got my own Portuguese Water Dog from Allen Smucker and I highly recommend him! Allen response quickly and he was able to answer questions I had. The litter was born on a farm and socialized very well. He is an upstanding person, as he could have sold the pooch I bought from him to someone who was local; however, he held on to the pup for me (I drove from Chicago to PA) and his word was his bond. Thank you to Greenfield Puppies and Allen, as words are unable to state how truly happy I am with my new Portuguese Water Dog as an addition to my family!

Fantastic, loving pet, my best friend. We had to put her down this Friday at 9 years old due to cancer which was not curable by an operation two months ago. Don't know if we will ever be able to find another one to fill her shoes, and our heartache.
