We have a Norwegian elkhound/poodle mix . We got him at four months he is now 11 months . He is fantastic with the children, he housetrained extremely easily, he hardly ever Barks,. So far,he has been the best dog we've ever had . ( doesn't shed )

Fantastic personality. Great with other pets He grew up with cats and rabbits, but will go and chase a wild rabbit. Unsure of what he would do with it. My Elkhound is a big lover and extremely smart. High energy and playful. Loves people and other dogs. Not a great watch dog as he has to know what is happening around him. However as he is getting older he is starting to get a little more protective. Can't imagine my life without him.

I owned a german shepherd/Norwegian Elkhound mix and he was one of the best dogs I have ever owned. Smartest, easiest to train, unagressively protective, gentlest with children. I was once told by a trainer to show my dog in obedience because "that dog loves to do what you ask of him"
