We adopted our Golden Retriever from David Stoltzfus, Mohawk, NY. Jack was the last of the litter but first in our hearts. He is all puppy but speaking from experience, Jack has been easy to train, good-natured, and is pretty laid back for a puppy. Compared to our Lab Gunner he is very mellow. This is our first Golden, so we are on a learning curve. We are very happy with Jack and look forward to many years with him.

Yes when I was a teenager we had one. The golden retriever got brain cancer and died. We just had a smooth fox terrier that passed away from old age of 15 years old. I am looking to get a Golden Retriever again.

Breeder: John & Ruthie Stoltzfus from Narvon, PA Was wonderful to work with. John was very honest and takes great care of his animals. The very next day after getting our puppy I took him to the Vet, who gave a through check to our pup. Doc said we had a good pup and he was very well taken care of, just beautiful he said! Every time I called John he was very helpful. We have a wonderful new family member and could not be more pleased! If you are having doubts getting a pup from Breeder: John & Ruthie Stoltzfus DON'T they are wonderful people who take care of their pups.

Extremely friendly, but knows not to jump up. Walks to someone and sits down in front of them to get attention. Worst problem is the shedding.

Had two Goldies in the past. Love, love this breed. I lost one in a house fire and one passed at 12years young. I didnt think I could ever bring one home. Because I thought I could never find another Sunny.But the heart knows what's missing, and I so want another Goldie. What finance plans do you offer? Ever have deduced pups. We had a golden for 15 years. He was the best dog. He grew up with my boys. Went through 2 graduations and 2 weddings as a member of the family. He also was my grandsons best buddy. His name was Toby and he waited every day for Trito our grandson to come to the house. We would love to have another golden but they are so expensive. My last golden cost us 50 dollars! I know that will never happen but I could do 400. Dollars cash. We are looking for a male we don't even care about papers.

Until 5 years ago, I did not care for the Golden. They just didn't look pretty. But then my sister got one. Cooper has me wrapped around his paw. (smile) I schedule time for him to visit. Take off from work, plan vacations together, had him off leash trained. When he is with me , he is my life. So you can see I am hooked on Goldens now. What was I thinking? I hope to have one of my own some day.

This particular breed of dog has been in our family for 23 years. We have had the honor of loving 3 so far. They are my very favorite because of their gentle loving and playful demeanor. Golden Retriever best dog hands down. My Golden Retriever is my best friend, loyal follows me everywhere. Broken my ankle 2 years ago while walking in my yard with her in the snow. They heard me calling for help and found my girl laying on top of me keeping me warm. Never leaves my side. Love her more than anything. Smart, Intelligent and unconditional love all the time.

The best dogs ever! Don't believe the life span of 10-12 years. With a great breeder, lots of love and a good diet they can live much longer. Sadly, we lost one of ours last year one month shy of 15. And, we just lost our other big boy in October, two weeks shy of 14. Great family dogs, they love being with you. It's just so hard to say goodbye as they truly are a family member.

Extremely hyper untill Around 4 years old then mellows out. Is the best family dog you could ever dream of. I've had mine; Toby, for 10 years and he still acts like a puppy. He's very playful and sweet. Big baby and great with kids. Love him more than anything in my life. He's my bestfriend and I take him everywhere with me. Loves the beach and outdoors. I'm going to get another one soon.

I have owned GR for 35 years. I highly recommend them for a family dog. They can be mouthy in the beginning but if broken of that early, very helpful. Introducing a puppy to a family with an older dog is great. They do so well when mentored by an older Golden.

We've owned three Goldens in the last 18 years and have loved them all. Two were rescues and one we got as a puppy. They are very loving dogs but not overly loyal. Anyone with a treat and a pat will get attention. The puppy has been very energetic and at 2.5 hasn't slowed down much. All three had distinctive personalities from being very laid back, to very attentive and wanting to please, to very silly and full of energy. We love the breed and are looking for another to keep the 2 year old busy. They can be a "Velcro" dog if not kept active. Not aggressive at all.

Our golden is excellent with children & kids. She is a good watch dog, and is protective of our daughter. They are best friends. We love to see them leaning against each other. Goldens do need to be groomed because they tend to lose hair. However, since we\'ve been staying on top of her grooming, she enjoys it. Goldens also have a higher likelihood of allergies. But, they are not that difficult to control.
