I rescued a (at the time) 7 year old Boxmas (Boxer Mastiff mix) and he is the heart and soul of our family. He is a pretty big sized dog, weighing in at 97 pounds, last time he was weighed. Besides his size, his looks speak volumes as well. I am constantly getting compliments about how handsome he is and at the same time I have to laugh when about half of the people we come into semi close contact with tend to detour WAY around him. Haha He definitely looks like a dog you wouldn't want to mess with and he has a bark to match (though he rarely barks) but he is by far the biggest baby I've ever known. He is absolutely wonderful with the kids and when it comes to ruling the roof, my cats have definitely let him know who's boss. While he has never shown aggression towards anyone or anything, I do notice that he watches (or will even put himself between my husband and myself) if we are goofing around and play fighting. I truly feel that, while he is definitely the poster dog of "gentle giant" that if I, or my children, were ever in real danger, he would defend us. The other great thing about him is, while even at 9 years old he still has bursts of puppy in him, he is very laid back. He enjoys his walks as much as he enjoys his blankey. Yes, he has one! And he gets mad at me when I wash it! Haha I'm absolutely in-love with this breed and have actively started the search for another!

I adopted a Mastiff/Boxer mix from the pound. She is 3 months old and is very intelligent. She loves to go for walks and interact with other dogs. She can be fiesty so I need to redirect her constantly. I\'ve had her 4 weeks and she learns really fast if I stay consistent. She is a joy to be around. She eats and eats and eats.
