History - Researched breeder - clean inspections as far back as we could go. Breeder facility - On site visit, met both dam and sire - sweet dogs, excellent demeanor. Facility not fancy, but dogs had indoor - outdoor runs and a play yard. Everything clean. Chris left the dam to free roam the farm after meeting us and she stayed close - it was clear she is let out often by her behavior being "free" to roam. She came when called by us for more pets, not shy at all- perfect behavior, then her beagle nose got busy again. (Almost wanted to leave the puppy and take mom, such a great dog!) Health - "Bubba" was last of his litter, almost 16 weeks. Had clean fecal results on testing - healthy coat, nose, ears, eyes, mouth - check by our vet "very healthy little pup". Came with 1 year health guarantee and records of shots and deworming etc. Food - Chris sent us home with enough for two weeks. Ordered more on chewy.com to keep pup on same diet because we liked the brand choice after researching it. Breeder - friendly and helpful. Clearly this is his livelihood and done for income, but you can tell he loves dogs and takes care in breeding a good healthy dog. His interaction with his adult dogs said a lot - you can see the experience and care. We looked at pictures of past and current litters - conformation excellent. We wanted to adopt a bud for our older beagle, but it just wasn't working out finding a suitable rescue. We really didn't want to do puppihood again......but we are pleased we made this choice. At 5 months old he is already proving to be a highly intelligent and very sweet boy. He also points and alerts as a proper beagle already - imagine he'd be a good little hunter if trained as such, but right now as a house dog he's already mastered his sit command as well as several other house patterns and directions.
