In my opinion bullmastiffs are the perfect dog to join your pack. I've owned bullmastiffs for over 20 yrs. Training when young is important, especially during their teenage yrs. They grow into loving, playful dogs with a naturally inborn protectiveness; this is a piece of training I can't stress enough. Family and friends should be able to come over w/o any aggressive behavior. Bullmastiffs are very loyal and cuddly dogs. They can grow to be quite large; 85-165 lbs. If you aren't intimidated by their grown size give this breed a try. They only negative I find in this breed is they're short life span, which is usually 8 to 10 yrs. I just lost my last dog that was a bullmastiff german shepard cross - she lived to be 13. In my opinion this is the best breed a family could have. I'm in search if my newest family member now.

I am coming back. Have purchased an English Mastiff, Katherine over ten years ago. She passed in Feb, 2017. I purchased Morgan Grace, an English Mastiff, who is now going to be 5 yrs old on October 25th, 2017. I like big dogs. I also had a Bullmastiff that I purchased in New York. She was one of the smartest dogs I ever had. When she passed ( we were in mourning ) It took me 1 1/2 years before I purchased Morgan Grace. I still think about her...

Best dog ever. He was awesome with children and guests in our home. 136+ pounds of lap dog. Training was different and sometimes difficult. At two years a switch was flipped and he was awesome. Family dog a 100% recommendation. A property protector, no...may scare away some bad guys. Based on my experience he will be a personal protector for his pack. His protection is presence, not aggression. It is actually quite impressive to watch.

We had a female bullmastiff who recently passed due to osteosarcoma. She was sweet, patient, drooly, lovable and thought she was a lapdog. I wouldn't hesitate to get another of this breed, especially if you are looking for a mellow dog and a big love muffin.
