Border Jack Breed Review by Sharon Goble
We had Missy, a beautiful, border jack mix for ten years. She was so energetic, loving and a great behaving dog. She had an ACL problem. We paid to have her surgery and her surgeon said it did not heal probably because she had gotten progressive cancer. We lost her 3 months later

Best dog I have ever owned. Incredibly smart. Learns rapidly. Loving, funny, snuggly, loyal. Loves people. Not great with other dogs. Though that might be my fault. I got her at seven months of age to be a companion for my elderly dalmatian. They were best buds until the Dalmatian passed away. I live on a large lot and have an acre for the dogs to run, so the two just ran and played and had a grand time. But, other than walks with me, I never took her anywhere else. She gets along adequately with my daughter’s German Shepherd, but when I’ve introduced her to other dogs, it hasn’t gone well. I firmly believe that because of her great intelligence, that if I had trained her to be with other dogs, when she was young, it would be just fine. So, advice, socialize, socialize, socialize. And then you would have a fantastic fantastic dog.

The best all around dog to own, had one for 14 years and recently passed and me and my family are looking for the exact same breed again as they are smart, very social with their owners but not so much with other dogs are have human traits for lack of a better word. Would rate them a 10/10 from my experience!

Our nine year old Jack Russell border collie was the most amazing dog I have ever owned. Never had to put him on a lead while hiking in the Adirondack mountains or in our local state forest because he was so well trained on voice command ,Unfortunately, he just recently passed away from an unknown blood clot.I hike with my dogs, regardless of the weather 4 to 6 miles a week throughout the winter, snowshoeing, here in central New York State, I am retired, 67 and very active and I deeply miss Scotty. Hoping by the Spring the right puppy will be available.

Our little girl is almost 13. She is definitely the sweetest, smartest and cuddliest dog we have ever had. Oh, the softest, too. Yes, she does shed, but brushing and vacuuming take care of that. And, although she has joint problems (arthritis, etc.) and has some pain from that, she still loves her walks and to play with toys -- and the cat. Would love to find one just like her once we no longer have her with us.

Our Border Jack girl is 5.5 yrs old and she is the first dog I've had. She won my heart right from the moment I saw her. She is intelligent, and was easy to train. She is sensitive and is an incredible Guard dog. She never bites or hurts people. She is pretty high in energy levels and loves to walk and play, but she also loves to sleep. She is extremely cuddly. She does shed a lot at certain times of the year but we brush her very regularly. I love this mixed breed!

I have an 11 year old jack Russell collie mix, her name's Mac and they are the best dogs ever, smart full of life and energy, and easy to train! I want another one some day exactly like her when it's her time to go. Love these dogs!

I have a borderjack and I'll never go pure breed again. I've had jackrussels(to much energy) I've had Italian greyhound(very hard to train) and now my borderjak little bit. He is the cutiest and most well liked of the dogs in the neighborhood, and everybody has purebreds. He listens, snuggles, barks when danger but most of all very smart and obedient. I love him and want another.

We have an 11 year old border jack that we adopted this year after losing our sweet girl of 13 years suddenly. Lilly is adorable, energetic, loving and very smart! She has extreme separation anxiety though. She is extremely loyal, loves to run and actually will smile at us when we come back from being out of the house for a while. Lot's of puppy left in her, though I imagine she had double the energy when she was younger.
