I love my Belgian Malinois!! Rhea is a Belgian staffy mix and she is just the sweetest. She learns quickly and understands the meaning of no, yes, and no bite at only few weeks old. I was able to teach her sit in two days. My only issue is that she chews a lot. But I appreciate her energy, keeps me active, and that she know when to rest. Overall, 5 stars, great companion dog.

These are highly intelligent very active dogs. Easily trainable but high spirited. They sometimes have a problem listening if they get excited.

Excellent dogs to advanced handlers. These guys are biters by nature and are great working dogs. Occasionally a low drive Mal will make a nice active pet. These guys need mental stimulation in addition to physical exercise. Mals are not the same as German Shepherds and are muchless forgiving. If you want a dog to actively show in obedience, bite work, fly ball, tracking, etc these are your dogs! If you are not working them and want a hiking or running partner go get a husky.

I'm interested in the Belgian Shepherd because of the size and the intelligence I'm looking for a medium sized dog. I've always on German Shepherds for the bigger dog needs a little bit more attention on other areas so I'm very interested in trying out Belgian shepherd. I think we will have similar personalities. I'm an energetic type of person I like to go walking in the woods. I also own my own home and I do have older children.
